Description
- .page: min-width: 800px;
This makes the lines in p.mailbody always too long, no matter how wide the browser window is. "A line has the correct length if the read flow is not interrupted too often and if the eye finds the next line without irritation when changing. (Otl Aicher in Typography, p. 149).
- td: font-size: 9pt;
Affects p.mailbody. The font is much too small and by setting it to pt instead of a flexible size it can only be enlarged with losses through the web browser. I don't think it was intended to make life difficult for people with poor eyesight. In addition, a monitor resolution of 96 dpi should be regarded as a lower standard, my monitor, for example, is one for graphics processing and has a much higher resolution.
Basically, the selected specifications should support the user in his communication by means of typographic findings. The design should be based on this and not the other way around.
A note on the copyright line. From conversations in mailing lists I know that many users regard the date of the copyright as the date of the version and equate it with the state of development and thus with security.
