Well progress is finally happening on this at the most inconvenient time to be a Mozilla extension developer. See branches android-trunk and android-compat for compatibility fixes and progress. Shoud be done by 1.5.1

The mirror of this issue on github has more information. Syncing issues bidirectionally isn't a thing I do at this time. TLDR container tabs exist on Android but UI for them does not. Recent developments suggest that this is beginning to change but they have not made their way into a release or even into a nightly yet.
