Proposal: remove shutdown icon from reload button #247

As decided at a meeting on 2018-12-29, the vast majority of this is pushed to the 39 release. 38 will contain the wizard and the light background change only. Sadie, if there's anything else you want to squeeze into 38, let us know.

Having given this more thought, I think that the best option is to remove the icons and have text only. As Slumlord pointed out earlier, not all notions are easily translated when it comes to icons. Restart and refresh as icons look similar. There are also so many icons, that these seem to just get lost. Given the importance of the function, this may be better highlighted and understood as text only on the buttons and removing the icons all together.

As we are updating our iconography with .38 , these icons will be updated as well. Removing the shut down button from the restart button is preferred.

I agree with Slumlord. The stop/restart icons are confusing especially. We may have more feedback to either support this or not when our usability testing results are presented in the next few weeks.

Yeah, the changes last year removed the text, and we did have issues in testing with people thinking it was a refresh button. I was fine with the fix to add the power icon on hover, but it is a little bit odd, and there may be opportunity to improve further, or perhaps we should go back to text. Adding some UI team to the CC for discussion.

I didn't find that to be the case at all. I found it confusing to have the Power and Restart symbols, I did not understand it to mean that it was for a "power off then restart". Having text on the buttons makes the most sense to me as that would be easily translatable, I don't think it is a good idea to assume that these symbols and their meanings would be easily understood everywhere.

As described in http://trac.i2p2.i2p/ticket/2272, we plan to reduce the available themes to one light and one dark - probably classic & midnight. I would propose removing the icons for text, as is used in the 'dark' theme.

No, it's not a glitch. It's there to reinforce the function of the button which is to restart the router ie power off and then restart, as a response to feedback that suggested it might be mistaken for a refresh console button. If you miss the tooltip hint, you won't miss the visual indication of function!
